Hello! I am writing this on a most glorious September day with low winds, sunshine and blue skies, what an unexpected surprise and treat!

Last time I mentioned 'Seeds of Hope'. I didn't think too much about the phrase for a couple of months but then attended the 'Seeds of Hope' workshop, one of various events part of the Sacred Arts Festival, under the umbrella of the Edinburgh Fringe. It was led by Carol Marples from Soulmarks.

Like other art and prayer workshops I've attended with Carol, this one was inspiring and thought provoking and offered depth and richness and a real opportunity to connect and respond creatively with God. I firmly believe that creativity is God's gift to us and one way to connect with Him - which sadly can get missed. As Julia Cameron says in her wonderful book 'The Artist's Way, A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity', "For most of us, the idea that the Creator encourages creativity is a radical thought. This thinking must be undone." So unleash your inner artist and don't think you are not good enough - it's not about perfection but noticing and responding.

The title 'Seeds of Hope' has lingered with me and then inspired by the seed heads in our wildflower patch, I got out my gelli print plate and set to making images and turning them into a book. It's not perfect but then I, too, need to remind myself it's not about perfection but responding to the Creator!

Inspired by Carol's workshop, each page in the book has a word representing a seed that would be good to sow and to see sown. Here a photo of one of the pages - each page a bright colour with seed images!
